Mulmul Collection
With our mulmul collection, we go back in time to the 17th-century Bangla of the Indian subcontinent, which produced one of the finest muslin cottons of that period. This featherlight, gentle cotton was hand-spun by Indian weavers and exported across Europe until the company rule caused its decline. Label Ritika believes in reviving this heritage industry and reinventing the local homegrown weave into modern and elegant couture that reflects the progressive yet grounded sensibilities of the contemporary woman. The suppleness of this fabric even inspired poetry, so much so that it came to be known by names like Baft Hawa (woven air) and Shabnam (evening dew). And inspired by this poetry, we designed a lyrical collection that combines finesse with function. The idea behind this range is absolute comfort and easy maintenance, given the sultry and scorching Indian weather, without compromising your style quotient. The organic and breathable mulmul fabric is kind to your skin and sustainable for mainstream fashion. These everyday dresses look sophisticated by day and swanky by night for the woman on the go. The highlight of this collection is its handwork detailing of embroidery, crochet, and smocking. The delicateness of this fabric is matched with swift cuts and subtle detailing. A style statement that is simple, sustainable, and seen.
